Star Wars Combine is a real-time online browser game, set in the Star Wars universe. The game was created as a sort of continuation to a previous online game called Star Wars Simulation (SWSim), a pure role-playing game (with players sending messages in-character) that lasted from March 1995 until November 3, 1998.

A non-profit project, it is free to play and kept by a group of volunteers that constantly develop new features. Originally played by pure role-playing, in February 1999 it received a Java-based client called Combine Commander, which added more gameplay elements. By April 2000 it would be expanded with two new downloadable programs, ICIS and HoloCom. Since late 2003 the game runs fully in-browser, using a client called Darkness.

The game offers several races and factions, but each player can only create one character. If that character dies, it is deleted. Actions taken in the game take a set amount of real-time minutes to complete, depending on the task. So crossing the street in a city might take a few minutes, while travelling across solar systems can take several real-time days to complete.
